CPIO CBI needs to provide info for the applications filed before their inclusion in 2nd schedule.

The respondent submitted that the enquiry had since been
completed and the employee concerned had been punished but no information
had been sent to the Appellant under the impression that the CBI was no longer
required to provide information as it had been included in the second schedule
to the Right to Information (RTI) Act by a government notification.

After carefully considering the facts of the case and the submissions
made before us, we are of the view that the desired information should have
been provided long back. The inclusion of the CBI in the second schedule in
June 2011 cannot exclude requests for information filed before that date. In any
case also, the CBI should have informed the Appellant about the action they
took on her complaint. Now, we direct the CPIO to write to the Appellant within
10 working days of receiving this order and to intimate her about whatever
action the CBI had taken on her complaint including the copies of the relevant
orders/documents in this regard.
