Misleading advertisements by the insurance company executives There is a say in market that "if you can convince the customer well and good if not confuse". I came across an advertisement a month ago in the local kannada daily 'Udayavani' in Mangalore. The content was 'Required Associated Managers on freelance basis to develop company business in Mangalore and Udupi' with contact mobile numbers. I called up and inquired about the opportunity, for which the call receiver asked me to come directly to their office in the city, but the call receiver carefully avoided to tell the firm name. My self sincerely went to the given address and found that, it is an insurance company. Immediately my mind was incline to go inside, but instantly a lady officer came out and asked me to go inside the office for discussion. I reluctantly went inside and sat in a meeting room. I had a hour long interview cum discussion on the post and the package. I, after many Q&A got convinced and agreed to join the firm as Associated Manager, starting with training for one week, then write exam to get the IRDA license.(Entire on verbal basis, but nothing on writing)
On 23rd July I have appeared for exam and passed IRDA exam. On 24th I have logged in two policies and fulfilled the requirement to commence my job.
During the interview they promised to appoint me as Associated Manager, with monthly remuneration, commission, team of advisers, visiting card and the welcome kit.
I have fulfilled the commitment for the month of June and now ready to fulfill for this month. With all this effort and enthusiasm the company incline to offer the promised post and facilities, saying that it was misunderstood by my self and in actual I'am eligible to become an Adviser and after recruiting five advisers under me I will become Agency Organizer (AO) and when I have fifteen advisers under me, I will become Chief Organizer. I will be eligible for commission on premium collected and an addition of ten percent of the premium as incentive will be given by the company. But no where they said any promise of monthly remuneration. Also the visiting card can be printed as AO but not Associated Manager. (If at all insist they can un officially print card as Associated Manager and provide the same, that they said today)
With this developments I feel breach of trust by the company executives, as entire process happened more on verbal mode and not having any thing on writing, which gave rise to easily confuse me by the company executives. And I gave importance to "good will" by which ended up with deep humiliation. Why companies take advantage of innocent people? how can we curb such practice by the leading insurance or any companies in today's competitive market. Please comment, advise and take action. Thank you.

This is a illegal operation.
It is like a MLM chain and not allowed for Insurance business as per IRDA rules.
You should complain immediately to IRDA.
