The RTI reply named '9 Padma Award Committee Members' and CBI, IB, CBDT, DRI, CEI, RAW and SEBI, who checked the character and antecedents of the Padma Award Recipients.

Point No 1 :

Despite all these checks and balances, neither the committee nor the agencies could report Mr ABCs bank defaults.

Despite the fact that several banks have declared Mr ABC a “willful defaulter” continuously between 31 March 2005 and 31 March 2012, how his name was short-listed and forwarded to the PM and the president?"

ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED AGENCIES FAILED IN THEIR RESPONSIBILITY OF BACKGROUND CHECK - HOW TO START THE CORRECTIVE ACTION ??? HOW TO HOLD THE CONCERNED GOVT OFFICERS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS GOOF UP ????


Point No 2 :

Grave Public Interest - On one hand Finance Ministry (RBI) is trying to reduce the burden of burgeoning NPAs and on the other hand Ministry of Human Affairs has rewarded the defaulter with a Padma Shri.

Point No 3 :

HOW TO START ACTION FOR WITHDRAWAL OF THE AWARD IN PUBLIC INTEREST ????

ARE THERE ANY NGOs WHICH CAN FILE A PIL IN PUBLIC INTEREST AND NATIONAL INTEREST - OF NOT SETTING A BAD EXAMPLE - BY AWARDING A BANK DEFAULTER ????

Now since the name of Mr ABC has been printed by the media I am uplaoding the reply of MHA to the RTI application.
