RTI Rules in MP
The MP Rules do not clearly specify the fees for information. A PA has put up a board outside its office saying the charges would be Rs 5 per page. Is it reasonable?

It seems reasonable as rule/s are not clear.
Strange rule:
3 (2) After receiving the application by the State Public Information Officer or the
State Assistant Public Information Officer as the case may be, the printing cost
or medium cost price of the material of the information as determined by above
Officer shall be deposited by the applicant to the above said officers in cash or in
the form of non-judicial stamp. If the amount is deposited in cash by the
applicant, the State Public Information Officer or the officer as directed by him
shall give a receipt of such amount. The amount so deposited shall be deposited
into the treasury by a challan.
1. As it means that if PIO/APIO asks for Rs. 100/ page, the applicant has to pay?
And please see this too (point no.2 page no. 4):

Re: RTI Rules in MP
Nothing is clear. Can the PIO charge any amount he wants? In the link you have given the PA requires the applicant to send a self addressed stamped envelope along with the RTI Application. Even MPSIC has similar requirement. But no such thing is mentioned in the Rules. I did not send the envelope. Can this be sufficient grounds for denial?

It is also given that If PIO rejects any application, will inform about reason of such rejection along with name, add. of appellate authority.
Why dont you send self addressed stamped now?
