Need help in framing RTI on Retired FIL, potential 498a victim QUESTION:
Is it OK to inquire about a list of people (designation, last salary drawn) who have retired till date in this year and what amount (or %) they have withdrawn from their PF? Is it also OK to ask about which people have taken their pension in lump-sum instead of monthly amount (someone working at SBI told me this is possible). The reason for asking about this is this potentially renders stopping-of-pension counter useless in case of retired employees so would like to know it beforehand.
BACKGROUND:
1) No 498a FIR only complaint by wife which was closed.
2) FIL works in govt engineering dept and is going to be retired this week. There is a very nice application at 498a Discussion Forum - View topic - Salary details of FIL/MIL of Smt 498a =RTI and would like to unearth all the information mentioned there but in the same thread some people have mentioned that such information was denied u/s 8 citing third-party info. So I want to go about it in stages.
The line of reasoning here is that once FIL is retired, chances are old colleagues/union won't bother to apprise him of an RTI against him and might slip-in information w/o much hassles to us. I've also read that people suggest asking for entire haystack when you want a needle.
Please help in figuring out RTI questions that would seem non-invasive to PIO and yet do the job. Of course, secondary weapon would be to go direct citing CIC decisions.
Thanks!
