Rationale: RTI is a crucial tool for getting important information, particularly the implementation status of the welfare schemes, the budgetary allocation and finding out discrimination or corrupt conducts of the bureaucracy. It is also a vital source of news for the local and state media. RTI would enable NGOs/activists to further their investigation of inappropriate funds and conducts social audit. Re: New Delhi: 3 Day training course on RTI
Ah .. I had to be trainer instead of a trainee.
Today was first day and Mrs Kiran Shaheen started with introduction to RTI Act. I could not hold my silence when madam kept imparting the wrong information about the RTI Act. She had no knowledge about the FA, third party and section 8 etc and was unable to answer the questions of trainees. Finally I asked for the permission which was granted.
I gave my introduction to the trainees (15 in no, ) and explained in details about the act, procedure of filing application, first appeal and second appeal. Also cleared the doubts they had about the RTI Act. It was nice to interest these training and really enjoyed the session.
I am interested to know the procedure of social audit for which I have joined the course. They will start it from tomorrow.
