    explanation on section 26 (1) (a) of RTI act

    Can any one explain about the section 26 (1) (a) fully in a simple manner.
    My understanding from this clause is every Public authority should conduct traning program to public perodically is it correct. Means they should alocate budget, time, resource for educating public am i correct in this.

    This is another section after 5(3) which exists on paper only.

    i have known of some PAs doing the exercise, to lesser or larger extent. though it is another matter that many a times money is spent, and only the staff of PA is informed at the last minute, and it is just a farce.

    i hv known of SPIPA conducting some of these programs, and suggesting to the PA what information should be voluntarily and publicly declared, even if not specifically seeked by any applicant etc.

    i think it is a good provision, in right hands

    5(3) requires PIOs to "render reasonable assistance" to information seekers.
