Need Help: Voting Id

Hi

My name is Rushit Savla and my age is 21yrs. I had applied for my Voting ID around 2 yrs ago. The officers accpeted my registration by Oct-Nov 07 as previously they use to say, that the batch of people born in 1987 is not to be taken as yet. After taking my Form they asked me to come in Feb 08 and check if my Name has been listed or not. In Feb , my name was listed but there was a mis-print of my name, instead of Rushit, they spelled it as Sushit inspite of writing clearly in my submission form. I asked them about the procedure of getting the spelling corrected, they gave me another form and asked me to submit in it May, they didnt take the form at that time only. And when i submitted in May they asked me to come in Jun again and check . Till today, they have been delaying it only by saying come in next month. I have made lots of rounds of their office and tired now.

Kindly advise me as to how should i get this problem sorted out. Your help would be much appreciated.

I hope you have maintened acknowledgements of bith the fors, one for original registration, and another for correction in electoral role. You have to submit a query under RTI to the 'Public Information Officer, Election Commission, __________ area, Mumbai. In this you may ask the following quesions:

1. Have you received my application for registration as voter as on _____________ ?
2. Please provide name and designation of the officer responsible for correct entry of the name in electoral role
3. Please provide information weather my name has been included in the electoral rolls for ___________ constituency
4. If yes, please provide the list number and voter number on which my name is included.
5. Have you received my application for correction in my name on ___________ ?
6. Please provide name and designation of the officer responsible for correction of my name in the electoral role
7. Please provide information weather my name has been corrected in the electoral rolls
8. If yes, please provide the list number and voter number on which my name is included.
9. If my name has not been corrected, please provide information about any objection you have received to such correction
10. If no such objection was received, please provide information about reasons for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.
11. Please provide name and designation of the officer responsible for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.
12. Please provide information about what action has been taken/ will be taken against the officr responsible for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.

Appreciate your quick revert.

I do have the documents which i received initially after my registration was done and there are some numbers written on it. I Live in Santacruz-East. Kindly advise on which address should i post the questions provided by you and should i address it to some specific individual?

I think your election office address is as follows :

<NOBR>Santacruz (W) Municipal School, </NOBR>
<NOBR>Ground Floor Hall, Tank Lane, </NOBR>
<NOBR>Santacruz (W), Mumbai </NOBR>54.

If this address is not correct, (probably it is just voting centre), you can try election office of your area.

You should never address your RTI application to any individual. It has to be addressed to "Public Information Officer, Office of the District Election Officer" at above address.

thanks for the information on my querry(which had been posted by me on 22/01)
however, I am located in Sahar Village which falls under Vile Parle east and also mentioned as andheri east (In the voters slip which received while voting for last LS election incorporated as 167-Vile Parle) so, which office should I submitt the RTI to
