Re: How to apply to the PMO?

sidmis,

If you visit Prime Minister's Office , on the left hand frame there is a link to RTI. You will see that many many people have applied to PMO for information including some very high profile cases.
The website also has a "contact us" bar at the bottom of the webpage. If you click on that, a form will open up. Just ask in that form about the name for the D/D or B/C, I am sure you will get a reply in a day.
Even on this forum, there are several posts about information from or pertaining to the PMO. Just do a search for "prime minister office" and you will get all the links to articles.
Even members of this board have applied to the PMO for information.

DD/IPO etc to made in favour of Section Officer, Prime Minister's Office, New Delhi. However, I would recommend that you send all your RTI Applications to the PMO through the APIO, Post Office Route.

Go to the nearest post office and buy an ACG-67 Receipt also called Unclassified Receipt worth Rs.10/-. Tell them that its for Right To Information purpose. Maybe made in favour of Post Office, it they insist on this.

Write down the number and other details in your RTI Application, attach this receipt and hand it over to the Post Office that has a computerised customer service counter. Most major cities in India besides many others have this facility. They will forward your application on their own and give you a copy of the forwarding letter.

Best wishes

Manoj

Re: How to apply to the PMO?

That is very fine information Manoj.

Just to add to it, if the Post Office guy do not understand this, ask him to deposit the money under UCR, which is instantly understand and hand over the receipt.

In the Post office only the CPIO had been entrusted to feed the information via Internet for all the central Ministries. So if you could not locate the ACPIO (which off course sits at Customer Care center CCC), you must directly give it to the CPIO.
