What are the steps to be taken to improve road condition in our home town using RTI act

    Hi all,

Iam from a village called paithur in attur(taluk),Salem(District),Tamilnadu(State).

Roads leading from attur to Thammampatti via paithur, kadambur is in very bad condition and we people suffer from my childhood days due to improper roads. First 4 km come in to attur municipality control and if a tender is issued it is breaked up such that only 2 km will be awarded for one person for repairing roads.

Overall we want to improve our roads from attur to thammampatti as it is a shortest route for trichy.

What are the steps have to be followed to make it a better route as i dont know how to file an RTI,which format and where to be addressed to and to whom.
    Please help.

    Regards
    M.Arul

    Arul ji

Welcome to RTI India - Complete Online Community Portal for Right to Information

You can file RTI application for the same.

Your RTI application has to be to the local Public Authority which is in charge of road laying and repairs in your area and as per Tamilnadu RTI Rules and Fees. Please see:

T.N. RTI rules: TAMILNADU RIGHT TO INFORMATION RULES - RTI Guide

Your RTI Application needs to be addressed to the State Public Information Officer (SPIO or PIO).

    How to locate PIO:
HOW TO LOCATE A PIO UNDER RTI ACT 2005 - RTI Guide

Please see guide segment RTI Guide it has a lot of information about drafting a RTI application, fees, mode of payment, how to submit, how to locate PIO etc.

For help in framming your RTI application please see:

    3. (A well drafted RTI application by Sh. Karira available as attachment in this thread)
    http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/3134-r...-district.html

    4. http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/10032-...-shambles.html

    RTI procedure is :
    1. RTI Application with Fee to PIO
    2. If no reply/ not satisfied with reply in 30 (or 35 days in case of submission to APIO or under Section 6(3)),
First Appeal to the First Appellate Authority (normally a officer higher than the PIO)
    3. If no reply/ not satisfied with reply in 45 days to the First Appeal, then Second Appeal to the CIC/SIC (time period is 90 days)

Possibly this info will be of good help to you
Revert back if you still have any doubts, members will definately help you out .
    regards
