  1. Want to know the salary of my husband


    Sir,
    I want to know my husband's income who works in a MNC. A divorce case is pending and for the maintenance case the income of my husband is required. On 26.09.2013 I wrote a letter u/s 6 of the RTI Act to the Income tax officer of the concerned ward mentioning all above reason and also annexed the marriage certificate. Till date I have not receive any answer from their end. Kindly suggest me in that situation what can I do.

    Since thirty days have elapsed from the date of your RTI application, you can file a first appeal to the Appellate Authority of the Income Tax Ward, details should be available in the website of the Dept.

    Please search site of Income Tax Dept., RTI decisions, and you can find relevant judgments.

    I think better request the court to summon his IT returns to establish his income.... being personal / 3rd party information, RTI may not help.....

    RTI has been very successfully used to seek information on Income Tax returns / petitions, for example please find attached herewith this post, a CIC decision which Orders disclosure of the said information:
