ACR is the only tool available now for assessing the fitness of a person for the present job or for future assignments. Hence it may not be possible to abolish it without making alternative arrangements. It may be possible in future. The Govt commissioned various IIMs to suggest a scheme of Performance Linked Pay. They have also, perhaps, submitted their reports to the Govt which has perhaps asked the Sixth Pay Commission to take that also into consideration while making its recommendations. Let us wait and watch. But without waiting for that to happen right away ACRs can be made open. |

What I meant was - ACR can be abolished when the Govt introduces a scheme of Performance Linked Pay (PLP). But since it may take time, without waiting for that to happen, Govt can straight away make ACR open. By 'open' I mean it must not remain inaccessible in the garb of confidentiality. If someone wants to see anybody's ACR, including one's own, it must be shown. |

rkshukla ji, If a person is not knowing how much his bosses are happy and unhappy with his work, or not knowing where actually he is laging in working or any matter where his supperiors observed, how can an individual can improve him self (if he is lagging some where). Because average, good remarks are definatly going to effect his carrier and promotions. Hence CR's should be disclosed to the person who's CR's are written. rakatkam. |
