i. BARC is a unit under department of Atomic Energy. If I ask any information from PIO, BARC a part of which he needs to get from other departments of Department of Atomic Energy, can he say that "this office does not have this information, you may contact conerned department".

ii. is there any time frame within which you are supposed get a reply against first appeal.

If the information that you had asked for can be accessed by the Public Authority of BARC under any law or regulation, then it becomes the responsibility of the the PA to obtain that information and make it available to the applicant. If the information you had sought does not satisfy the above requirement, then the PIO of BARC cannot be faulted.

(Please use the section RTI Support for asking questions. As this section is meant for RTI news & discussions, posting questions here will mix up with news items and lose their significance).
