how rti helped me in getting my passport

Today i am happy and thankful to rti act and this forum..i got my passport within 20 days of filing my rti act.my application was to the p.i.o delhi (which can be read by looking in the "will my rti application be rejected" thread i posted earlier )..
I was not getting my passport though i had applied it in march..i was a student at the time of application studying in punjab though i reside in delhi..as a procedure the application has tto be cleared by both the police depts..delhi cleared me but the punjab pol was sleeping i suppose..this rti application helped wake them up..and got a reply from the application i had submitted to the p.i.o(they told that my passport has been despatched)
i hope people suffering from passport delays can use this forum,get knowlege abt rti and get rid of their problems...

Dear Sir
I had applied for a new passport vide my applicatin no A014295 dt 15.04.08, since my earlier passport no. A4397776 issued on 15.04.1998 by RPO Delhias expired on 14/4/2008. When my new passport did not arive even after passing 100 days I checked my application status in the net which state that i should meet PRO soon which i did no 27/7/08 as per his advice i have filed a new application form. I have been assured by Pro that my new passport will be issue with in 15 days but today been 10th sep i.e that is 43 days have passed but still no trace my passport. I wonder the claim of PRO and Ministry of external affairs that passport will be issued in 45 days time.
I fail to understand the reason for delay in issueing me the passport, which i wish to know through your chennel " WHY MY PASSPORT IS NOT ISSUED TILL DATE" please help me in getting my new passport which is my fundamental right.
