Change of address on Voters ID

Hi,
I have a problem with the Address on my Voters ID. The address is wrong. can anybody guide me as to how can i get a new Voters ID with the address changed..?

Voter ID card is issued from the Collector Office of your area. Looking to ensuing LS election, presently issuing new Voter ID is in progress all over India. Please approach the authority with new Address Proof.

You have to approach the office of the election commissioner in your area. it is usually situated at collector/ district magistrate office at each district head quarter. There you will have to fill in form for change in address (It is called form 8, but not very sure), and file it along with address proof (wich has to be attested by a gazetted officer). Do be careful to preserve acknowledgement of the same.

Then, when the voter list is published, check weather the correction has been carried out or not. If it is not done (which is more probable), do use Right to Information Act, and ask some questions like

1. Have you received my application for correction in my name on ___________ ?
2. Please provide name and designation of the officer responsible for correction of my name in the electoral role
3. Please provide information weather my name has been corrected in the electoral rolls
4. If yes, please provide the list number and voter number on which my name is included.
5. If my name has not been corrected, please provide information about any objection you have received to such correction
6. If no such objection was received, please provide information about reasons for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.
7. Please provide name and designation of the officer responsible for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.
8. Please provide information about what action has been taken/ will be taken against the officr responsible for not taking action on my application for correction dated _________.
