An organisation fighting against corruption - 5th Pillar India - will be conducting a rally in Tamilnadu to commemorate the 60th Independence Day celebration. The rally is to create awareness among the public about the need to eliminate corruption and benefits of Right to Information Act. The one- month rally would be held from 5 August to 5 September. Speaking at a press conference here, president of 5th Pillar Vijay Anand said the rally which would touch all the districts in Tamilnadu was expected to attract around one lakh school students and it would emphasise on the necessity to use RTI Act as a weapon to know the necessary information and root out corruption. He said the campaign would also be a launchpad to distribute a 'Zero Rupee' campaign, a unique concept to get rid of graft. About 5,000 copies of Zero Rupee notes would be distributed in each district of the State. Further, general secretary of 5th Pillar T Rathnapandian said, free lessons about RTI would be given to public during the rally and CD and booklets containing information regarding this would also be released. He said people were not aware of the RTI and people should use this to find answer to many of their problems. Those interested to learn more on the RTI or to place their grievances can contact Rathnapandian at 9941214188. REGIONAL FARE |
