Re: Fees Payable to whom?

I do not have the precise information about 'to whom' to address as of now, however, you can try following things:
  1. Google the organisation, and visit the website. In most of the cases, as has been directed via the RTI Act, the information are invariably provided about the CPIO and the mode of payment.
  2. If there are less information about the same, try finding the email IDs of the department, and email them asking about the fee procedure.
  3. If that fails, you can write directly to the CIC/SIC and ask them about the same.
Meanwhile if some member have the detailed information or happen to find some, they can post it.

I would suggest that you being the direct link for the organisation, find and let us all know that.

Regards,

Re: Fees Payable to whom?

Upon browsing the forum I came across a thread titled "in whose favour do you draw the instrument?" initiated by member rajatnarain. An advice in this regard is posted by member mpai which is as follows

"Send a postal order worth Rs.10/- and leave the name blank. Write in your rti application that this space has been left blank as you do not know the name in whose favour it should be drawn and request the Pio to write it himeself."

Is this process worth implementation?

Re: Fees Payable to whom?

@ Abhinav
thanks for your nice moral story. however its quite unfortunate that i couldn't ventilate the importance for which i 'm keeping on questioning in this forum. moreover, we all know that a query may have solutions of several approach. Now it's upto the individual which would h undertake. For instance your reply of browsing the site http://www.rtiindia.info/ didn't gave me any info about whom to pay the fees. However the query was nicely solved by Kushal Sir. Anyways thanks for composing a long mail in enlightening me with your valuable suggestion.

and try to contact the CGM to get a reply about your question.

2. For AICTE please visit Welcome To AICTE and call up the acting Chairman to get your info.

My first application was just a experiment. Me along with my Hsg society members made a simple question regarding one very long pending problem related to electric supplying company. We all were thrilled by the response. Our all the problem were solved just by putting an RTI application.
All my society members are now using RTI.

Re: Fees Payable to whom?

In West Bengal The fee for Form A u/s 6(1) of RTI ACT 2005 is Rs 10/-. Buy a court fee stamp of Rs 10/- and affix the same on your application to concerned authority. This is only payable one time ie. when you are making your first query.

Its over a week since your last post. Hope you manged to file the application. Regarding the above process, using the Indian Postal Order, it will work as many of us have tried it. However, please note that the application fee for different states may vary.

Re: Fees Payable to whom?

Yes, i've been able to file the application using 10 rs court fee as the application fee. For AICTE, upon enquiry to the concerned dept, I came to know that postal order should be in favour of Member Secretary, AICTE payable at New Delhi.
