RTI helps citizens to get closer to democracy!

I believe the RTI act will bring citizens closer to democracy.


For me an application as such doesnot matter much, nor for many of us. What RTI application in true sense matters is that we tell to Government that we are watching and that it is for us the Government is working for. Thus by this way, RTI will make citizens like me to participate in Government and decision making process.

May be in transition phase, people will go on asking personal question and distroying the correct thing for what RTI is meant for, and in medium term it will slow down the decision making process of the Government bodies because once RTI roles out, it will generate much fear in Officers taking decisions.

But in long run, it will bring about correct decision making co-terminous with citizens aspiration and thus will bring empowered citizens closer to democracy.
