Why am I being discriminated OR am I doing something wrong ?

There is a thread:

When I try to post in the thread, I get a message:

karira, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: etc etc etc

But I notice that colnrkurup has been able to post a reply in the same thread today at 05.12 pm.

How come he can post in a "locked" section and I cannot ?

This is not the first time it is happening and I was told by a moderator (I don't remember whether it was you or someone else) that the "Appeals and Decisions" section is "locked" because it was to be kept "neat and clean".

Am I doing something wrong or is it discrimination ?

Please clarify.

Thanks for informing. Yes, indeed it was discrimination and I had now corrected it.

The issue is that I had mistakingly not given permission to 'reply to own thread' in the 'Appeal & Decision" forum, and in this case, you had started the thread, and I had shifted it to "appeal & decisions", the restriction got applied to your account.

I hope this should be resolved by now. Let me know how it goes!

Dear Mr.Karira,
I came across above post to-day by accident. I am surprised as to how I got into a locked area. I swear that it is no one's mistake or discrimation; but technical flaw. In my usual habit of probing, unknowingly I could open it though there was various checks. If you ask me as to what all I did, I may not be able to repeat or recollect. Kindly donot blame anyone for allowing me to enter a closed gate. No body allowed me. I had gate-crashed. Sorry for making you feel hurt. Sorry to all concerned.

I do get such "not allowed" message many times. Hence I can not write my comments though I wanted to . I had sent you an email and for that you had given me a thread web address. I do use that and make my posting only in General discussion.

The particular forum permissions had a flaw: The one who create a thread cannot reply, but rest can. As Karira had started the thread the permission got applied to him, and he was not able to post further in the topic. Now I have corrected that.

At the bottom of any forum you can see what permissions you have. However, as you can start thread in all most any forum, except few as in Announcements & Discussions & RTI Act, Circulars and Decisions.
