CAR Driving License procedure for Physically challenged person

Hi,
I am a physically challenged person affeced by Polio on my right leg. I have the wish and will to drive car. I bought a ALTO LXi recently.
As per the norms, I have converted it to Auto Transmission with a vendor.

Now this modification needs to be endorsed in the RC book, and the same to be classified as INVALID Carriage as for the purpose of Physically challenged person to drive. Subsequently I need to apply for LLR and license.

I face the difficulty in getting it done with the RTO officials, Can someone help me in getting the issue resolved.

Have you tried directly meeting the RTO himself ?

Dear physically challenged friends. I too am temporarily physically challenged due to a stroke4. I have applied for and obtained a invalid carriage driving license from RTO Delhi for which being unsure of the procedure, I first tried to get help on a website called "bighelper.com" where I just got insulted by one member with no help forthcoming. I them joined the Automobile association of Upper India (AAUI). AAUI helped me understand the procedure and assisted me negotiate the path till I was given an invalid carriage driving license for a car. I have an autimatic transmission Santro Xing with no modifications. You may try the AASouthern India or wherever you are. AA has branches in all parts of India and are knowledgable and very helpful. RTOs I tried to get information fro0m on my own were unwilling to meet and whebn met were not very helpful. with the Automobile association in the loop things were very different. all the best. as per Indian laws no one can be denied a license to drive but just needs to negotiate the labyrinth of regulations etc. all the best to you.

In the meantime, my sincere regrets for the unhelpful attitude of another member at BigHelpers. Thanks for bringing it to our knowledge atleast now. The gentleman who replied is just another member and not part of the official team of BigHelpers. Some of us here are part of the Bighelpers team too, but due to the heavy traffic here, we find it very difficult to devote some time at BigHelpers.
