Passport not received even after 3 months

Hi everybody,

I am khushbu.I am new to this forum and need your help.

I applied for the passport on 25 jan 08 and police verification ws complete on 10th feb.From then to few days back, the status was 'Application under process'.Now ,it is showing 'Passport allotted, preparation underway'.

I need the passport urgently..
I was told that i will receive it in 2 months.
Till now, i have no hopes of receiving it in near future.
Can i file a RTI for the same?
Please guide..
