Regarding Huge Liquor shop direct infront of our Apartment
Dear All,
Around 24 Flats are there in our Apartment and suddenly in one night a Huge Liquor shop has come direct in front of our Apartment, located Near Marathahalli, Bangalore. we have given objection to Governor of Karnataka, and he has forwarded this complain to Excise commissioner in Karnataka. we have rasied a RTI asking for the complaint status. We got a reply from them stating that they have closed this complaint as there is no problem to anybody after inspection of the site. But as per our knowledge we have not seen anybody inspecting the situation.
we need to know how can we proceed as we are daily witnessing people fighting, and quarelling and creating many problems...in our locality. we have a dental clinic, and 4 residential apartments next to that liquor shop.
Kindly somebody Help us to make this liquor shop move out of this locality.
regards,
Karthik

You should file a fresh RTI application to Excise commissioner, seeking procedure for conducting site inspection. Also ask for copy of site inspection report filed regarding the shop in question. Ask for copy of NOC from Police department. Ask inspection of file, and check what other 'No Objections' are on record. If some of them are from other Public Authorities, put RTI questions to all of them seeking the steps they have taken before issuing the same.Sponsorer
Is the liquor just sold in bottles/ tins or is it served? If it his served, Public Health Department of BBMP may also have issued an NOC, and you should also put query to them.

Before issuing Liquor Licence, No Objection from nearby residents are taken by the Licencing Authority which the Excise Department. File RTI Application with PIO of Excise Department and seek (1) copy of No Objection submitted by residents of your Apartment and other Apartments in your locality (2) Feasibility Report submitted by the Inspecting Official of Excise Department for issuance of Liquor Licence. These documents when you receive from Public Authority would reveal who gave no objection from your Apartment and the exact nature of No Objection rendered. If it is bogus, you can take legal remedy.
If there is a school or Temple/Mosque/Church near your Apartment, issuing Liquor licence is prohibited and you can file fresh objection on that ground with Excise Department and follow up under RTI.
