Without going into tecnicalities, the least troublesome would be filing fresh application by your mother, isn't it?

In this regard it is to mention that as per this office record, the article was sent by Smt. My mothers name and not by you. Therefore, the points on which information was sought by you under Right to Information Act 2005 cannot be supplied under Section 8(1)(e) of RTI act 2005. if you are not satisfied with above reply , you may prefer an appeal within a period of 30 days from receipt of this letter to following appellate authority-
Earlier I have received replies RTI, by the same post office in same matter for other letters sent to person “A” which were filed by me in my name for registered letters sent by my mother.
Can a married daughter be denied information for seeking information on mother behalf or should I file an fresh RTI in mothers name or go in for an appeal

Anjalee,
What is your requirement ? To get the required information or to fix up the Postal Authorities.? In this case the Postal authorities seems fairly reasonable. Instead of getting into the complications please get the application filed in your mothers name. In the case of enquiries on delivery of registered letter, a normal complaint delivered to the post master with the photostat of original of the receipt will be much better than resorting to RTI. Normally in such cases, one get replies faster than RTI.
