We have more than 40000 registered users at our site but only 221 regular users that is 0.5% of total users who are active at our site. The criterion of becoming an active user has been broadly fixed by posting more than 20 Posts in total. Though being numeric it does reflect that we need to make efforts to make our community helpful and meaningful by way of compassion to help others. Was wondering how many of us are willing to make a small commitment to stay active and help others in anyway at this portal be it a reply to a complex RTI query to simply involving and helping new members which can be as simple as saying a simple hello.Vote at this poll and post your views!

Himanshu, Thanks for your interest in becoming an active member. The best way to start is to simply browse around and see if there are some queries posted around left un-answered. Even if you do not know specific answers, you can help others either by directing them to already answered posts. Use the search and tags to get most of the answers. Many a times new member post queries not related specifically to Right to information , we direct them to our sister portal http://www.bighelpers.org, the place where I am sure you can contribute substantially. Thanks again!

Dear Dr.kushal Pathak, good day, I am very serious to help others in the matter of RTI ,but I experienced personally that the authorties are really not honest in replying the grievances, rather trying to confuse the matters. to approach RTI is little rigourous rather than smooth one.filling application form and buying postal orders is not very convenient,it is time consuming and fetiguous from post office. The process should be attached direct to on line application and fees payment also.the head of the department who is proving information or answer the querris tends to shield their subordinates who have tendencies to harrass the public,so there should be independent authority who can take unbiased view.thank you. We still need to continue with all constraints. In the long traffic queue when crossing the red light looked grin, I would focus on the next car in front and would move ahead one by one, only to find I am the first person to cross. So I focus here at RTI INDIA on small but substantial contribution we can make, may be by way of helping with smallest of contribution, like a smile ![]() Thanks for your post.

Dr.Kushal Pathak, I am inquistive as to what you achieve of having a Register containing names of 40,000 persons who accidientally or casually registered their names with your site. Don't you think it is better to eliminate all those who have not used this site at least once since last one year or 1 1/2 years or 2 years as you think appropriate unless yo want to satisfy yourself that the site has a registered membership of 40,000. |

Dear All, The RTI Act is a very useful tool to help us / others at the same time. There are lots of people who do no know / understand how this can work towards active subtraction of corruption not only in government offices but also certain pyblic sector units etc: Let me know how can I be useful in implementing awareness in this noble cause. |

| Col Kurup, I will make a try if I can explain
May be accidental, but every member is a resource for us and I cherish & feel proud (satisfied) with each of them joining us and would never eliminate them. Surely I would take it on my shoulder to increase conversion from accidental to active member, but I do need each of "our inactive member" to do that, don't I? Shiraz Thanks for the encouraging statements. As I posted earlier, I am sure you would be of immense help to others. Thanks again! Regards,

No doubt RTI is an important tool in the hand of you and I but many times procedures are pooly understood driving us away from the intended purpose. Also many governmnet agencies have quitely and cleverly learnt the tricks of evasion and delay so that you and I get frustrated and pull away from the issues. I would like to know if there are others sharing my views D.J. Das Gupta |

Dear kushaal, i am willing to help with what i know. We have to give wide publicity to cases where rti has helped solve personnel where the authorities have been unreasonable and dictatorial. We also have to highlight how online app can be filed. I read in this site that it is not very advisable to lodge online app. Yet at another place i was advised to do so. We must have an official consistent stand that we all should espouse.
