Sirs
One of my friend applied under RTI act for knowing reasons for not qualifying his name in a DPC. In reply the authy concerned has informed that "you have been declared "Unfit" for promotion by the DPC and no other information is available in the file". Is it a correct reply under RTI act ?

It depends upon framing of the questions. Your message does not signifies the selection to which post. With out knowing the method of selection it can not be said that the reply is correct or not. What is full form of DPC? Whether the concern department is covered under RTI.

Your friend can get all the details of process of departmetal promotion process, includign how others faired in DPC and scores obtained by each of the candidate who participated in DPC. They must give full information under RTI. Pl check how appln was worded, otherwise file fresh appln by refering to http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...effective.html. If appln is ok, pl file first appeal.
