employee harassment

dear all ,

Hi ! i am working with a broking company which is took over by a big banking organization one year back , since then i have felt large scale changes in my organization.
i am serving my company more then 1.5 years as of now and i have recived 2 promotion. i have been most performing employee in my section on pan india level.Last days i was informed then the designation i am working on is no more in existaense with bank which takes us over , so i have on;ly two option

1) i can agree to demote myself to low level and revese my appraisal back , inspite of being best on the place

2) my Boss directly asks me to quit the job if i am not agree to get a demotion.

kindly suggess me how can i help myself and save my carriar.
