Readers may note that the Income Tax authorities have designated all Assessing Officers as CPIO's.

You can therefore address your RTI Application to the assessing officer of your ward/circle (details can be obtained from the rubber stamp on your IT return or from the printout, if you filed electronically), along with a IPO of RS. 10.00 payable to "Accounts Officer".
