appeal/file no. of second appeal before cic
I have filed few second appeals to CIC.
Since I did not get any reply from CIC I filed RTI to CIC asking for the registration nos.
Today I received the reply to my RTI.
The reply states the registration no. as CIC/SM/A/....... and received date 29-10-2008
To find the status of my appeal I used the search facility at CIC website.
The information displayed on the website is ---
File No. .... CIC/SM/A/...... (matching with reply to my RTI given as registration no.)
Appeal No. .... SA/UG/.....
Received date ..... 26-12-2008
Action Status ...... : Under Scrutiny process
......................... : Complaint/Appeal Admitted
Action date ....... : 26-12-2008.
My doubts are
1] The reply to RTI says received date is 29-10-2008 but the website says 26-12-2008. Why?
2] Action status on website says "Under scrutiny process" and also "Appeal/complaint admitted". Is the appeal admitted before scrutiny is done?
3] What is the difference between file no., appeal no., and registration no.?
4] File no. CIC/SM/A/... indicates appeal will be heard by IC Satyananda Mishra. Am I right? Then what does Appeal no. SA/UG/.... indicate?
I will be grateful to receive the replies from more experienced members

Re: appeal/file no. of second appeal before cic
The system of receiving and registering appeals at CIC is beyond the understanding of any person with sound mind. My advise would be to stop thinking about everything else and wait for date of hearing.Sponsorer

Situation at CIC is horrible. Shri Karira can well describe it for info of members. Information Commissions are just bent on killing RTI.
WE GET GOVT WE DESERVE. WHAT DO YOU PLAN FOR 2013?

Rajendra,
The "status" checking system on that website does not work properly.
(I am sorry, because I am partly responsible for it !)
No one in the CIC ever updates any change in status.
My appeals which were heard and orders issued, are shown as "signed copy awaited".
My appeals for which "Notice of Hearing" has been received by me, do not appear anywhere.
Some online complaints I never filed, are shown against my name.
As sandeep mentioned, just forget about it.
Just keep your fingers crossed or if you have a religious bent of mind, do good Puja everyday. Just like millions of our helpless fellow countrymen.

Re: appeal/file no. of second appeal before cic
I was waiting for Karira Sir to post his comment. After reading that, if (just in case) you still have enthusiasm of doing something, you can file first appeal referring to the status on the website and claiming that PIO has provided false information. Either the website status will be corrected or the PIO's reply will be corrected.
Please don't ask me what purpose it will serve. I have no answer.
