RTI act-form for income tax

Income tax department now has a prescribed form for making an application under RTI act. Please check if you can make the same available readily on your website.

The other department may also have similar forms. Please check if all of these can be made available on site.

I think this is a good suggestion. However, even if the information is asked in simple page, the CPIO cannot deny that information.

As far as Indirect Taxes are concerned there is no form. As it is the job of the CPIO assisted by ACPIO to ensure information requested to collected from the right person.

The job of CPIO is to collect the information from correct source and then pass on to the applicant. It is there to provide one window service and prevent misuse.

I had a talk with 5 IRS Officers day before yesterday, and they were not aware of any form for getting information from Income Tax office. I guess, it must be exclusive com missionary initiative.

I agree with you, the simplest form i believe can be in three part.

1. CPIO address
2. Information required
3. Applicant Address.

Yes, there is no prescribed form, and anybody can ask for information with a plain peice of paper and Rs.10/-
