How do you name an RTI Activist?

We would like to know how would you define an RTI Activist and how would you name them.

I came across a word 'Info Activist' in one of the Newspaper!

Would you define activist as:

Those who regularly seek information from Public Offices for larger public good or would you define them as those who help others in framing and using RTI. Personally, I think it is a mix of both.

But is there a proportion and degrees?

or is there some other definition to add?

Is the term limited to only organized Activist like an NGO, Samiti, organization?

I prefer to call anyone after educating himself to the extend possible on RTI, engage in contributing selflessly, in any way for the sustenance of the RTI Act, an RTI Activist.

Indeed good definition, I like the broadness you have provided with 'in any way'.

With this broadness, many people would be involved into this definition, and may be we would need to define the grades to differentiate. Is it?

Its more important that the applicant files an application for public interest and on a wider platform than just to solve some of his grievances.

Something like what Bhaskar Prabhu asked about the roads in Bombay and Harikumar did by asking about the POW in Pakistan and ofcourse recently on the safety of sea harriers.

I would like to del the word selflessly, rather it may be added that for the sake of the truth-- satyagraha. Every RTI activist is a satyanusandhani .

I think RTI Activist is sound better.. who make the Act Active in my opinion.
In one of recent RTI with Public Grivience reveal whole in the system.. not a single action agains any officials by it, it spend nerarly 2 crore for computrisation when asked about it replied not fully computerised and they dont have people to update their webite..more funn one was they have 4 drivers on payroll but NO Car.

RTI Governor, depending upon the members level of activity -similar to various coloured belts in Karate.

Ok now the voting in favour of name as RTI activist have been increased. I want to mention here that everything what it is developing now is already available in society but due to failure of that set up we need some new set up. The journalists already working were liable to get such informations and auditors were liable to audit all records to ensure correctness. We may dignos once again the name to get world wide recognition.

Without being "social", its incomplete to be at least RTI activist. I feel so.
Secondly everything is being done for self only. Not only for gain in material terms, but also for self satisfaction, happiness etc. So better to leave the terms like "selfless".
If the one is involved in social work, in the due course, he requires the info, and for that he comes to use more and more the RTI. And with that the people around come to know the use and importance of RTI Act. And as and when required they will also make use of RTI.

So thats why I consider Social Activist/Worker as RTI activist.

A very difficult question for me.
The word activist does not sound to me very convincing. The word appears to convey an agenda and movement as if someone wants to prove his/her point and want to generate public opinion.
I think RTI Helper or facilitator could be a better name.

An activist is a personal who is active in the respective field.The who can handle the RTI matters and able to help others in RTI Matters is a RTI Activist.Let us not waste time on definitions but get started and deal with RTI matters forgetting by what ever name we are called as it is the purpose that matters to me.

People help pther in many ways and on many matters and they are known as social workers. When a person help and guide others about their right to seek and obtain information with the help of RTI Act, he does the same as a social worker. Meda Patkar though mostly involved in environmental related issues, she is a social worker not just a Narmada Bachao Andolonist. hen an activist so help others in their right, he contributes to the cuase of a social justice. So, such persons are definitely social activists . Giving specialised titles such as RTI Activist may belittle his contribution in other spheres of his activities. Be a social activist.
