should joint owner of chs ltd fill form no 10-A

Dear Sir,
I purchased a flat in the joint name of my wife & my self (Shobha p.kurundodi & PrashantB.Kurundodi) & in the share certificate also my wife's name & my name is incorporated.In the society maintainance bill also both of our names are there. My wife's name is written first & then my name is written so we become joint owners of the flat. While i go to attend the General body meeting since last more than 4 years i am insisted by the other members that if i want to attend the meetings i should fill get the CONSENT LETTER FROM THE FIRST NAMED MEMBER IN THE PRESCRIBED FORM 10-A . Today the secretary has sent us a notice for the same. I reside at flat no 1, shri raksha, sane guruji nagar ,naughar road,mulund-east,mumbai-400081.
I wanted the information that would it be right on my part to do as per the society's above demand's. i feel that form no 10-A is not for joint owners to be filled. What should be the action on my part please guide me urgently.
