What to do if somebody harasses the government officers with flurry of RTI applications?

There have been some instances where some people have resorted to RTI as a harassment tool to the government servants. Recently, I have come to know about one instance wherein a RTI activist has sent almost 50-60 applications in the last one year (about almost everything). Is there any remedy to it? I know there is nothing given in the Act for discouraging such people. But whether CIC has taken cognizance of such matters in such matters or whether there exists any legal safeguards to the government officers?

no body can harass any one just for harassing .
The officer must have harassed others or must be very corrupt.

more over if some one is asking some information where is the question of harassing ??
simply provide him the required information .

sir,
if officer harassed by RTI activist it mean he do some hidden work and not willing to open. simply those information given which work was done. when work done in past then why you hidden why not open all. keep the broad mind and help rti activist to build nation strong.

It took me a lot of time, learning, patience, trouble of payment of Rs 10, rejection of application due to stupid reason by PIO , I do not think anyone asking using RTI can be termed a harasser.

Some officials simply can't imagine or just ignore the situation of a common man who has got the only tool in the name of RTI to get the rights.

Remember that, one of the big beneficial of RTI is also the Govt Employees who have been able to un-earthed the bias or false report against them.

There was news that 56% of all applications in 2006-07 were from govt servants under RTI .
In this case there is no reason to feel harassed by govt officer, if he has not done any thing wrong. Additional work load to honour fundamental right of a citizen of a democratic country has to be happily sustained. The officer needs to put himself in the shoes of applicants under RTI .

The correct figure till end 2008 was about 65%
