Can I ask for info under RTI from SBI? In other words, does SBI come under the purvue of Govt/ Govt of India Under-Taking? If yes, under which Ministry?

SBI falls very much within the purview of RTI Act since it is a PSU bank. It does not fall under any ministry for RTI purposes, but it has its own RTI hierarchy of PIO & FAA .

Shri Mohammad Zakaria,

Please see the SBI website. The have some general rules like all branch managers are PIOs and all regional managers are Appellate Authorities or some such. Use this:http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/blogs/...ding-govt.html template by Shri J. P. Shah as a guideline for drafting your RTI application.

regards,
SomeGuy

Respected Mohammad Zakaria,
You can file RTI application in the same branch from which you draw your pension.

Respected sir, All banks in India are regulated by the RBI and finance ministry. Public sector banks are headed by the BOD appointed and overseen by the government of India.
You can file RTI application to the concerned branch.
