Hi, I was in Bangalore but now I have moved to Pune. I left Bangalore on 26th of May 26 2008 and my IT refund cheque reached my Bangalore office on June 21 2008 as a result when I check the online status it shows "Refund cheque returned undelivered by the postal department as no such assessee exists at such address" I tried searching on how to get this done and found an article on internet which suggests me to get my PAN address changed then write to Bangalore IT Assessment Officer and Pune Bangalore Assessment officer about my change in address and get my papers transferred to Pune and then claim my refund. My refund cheque took almost 2 years to be issued so I fear the above will not work. Is there a way where I can ask one of my friend to go to Bangalore IT department with my authorization letter and collect the cheque on my behalf? IF YES, what all documents will he need to carry? Are you aware of a helpline or any contact number or address where I can enquire about this? IF NO, what is the way to get my refund money? I do not want to get the changes on my PAN card as I am planning to move back to Bangalore (but not sure how fast I will be able to move back). Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & Regards, Patralekh Satyam Last edited by ambrish.p; 07-10-2009 at 10:25 PM.. Reason: ext. link deleted |
