Dear Ashok, There is a Central Act as well as State Acts on Right to Information . If you want to get any information from Central Govt.offices, use the prescribed application form alongwith a Postal Order/ Court Fee Stamp for Rs.10/-. To get from State Govt.offices, use the particular form with the same fee mentioned just above. |

Dear Ashok Any simple letter addressed to PIO of the PA (Public Authority) asking for information /documents & attached with the RTI fee and subject "Information under RTI Act 2005" becomes an RTI application. The fee & format for your RTI Application has to be as per the rules of the Public Authority U are dealing with; whether it be PA under Central Govt. or Concerned State Govt. Please check rules before filing any RTI application. The RTI Rules and Fees for various States, Centre and High Courts are available in the Guide segment of the portal: RTI GuideThe Guide section also has some useful articles on How, What, When, Where of RTI . They will help you in drafting your application, whom to send to, how much fees, how to pay, what rules to follow, etc. Some good and valuable links are available under the "All about RTI " icon on the home page.If you have any further doubts, please post them here and our members will be pleased to guide you further. regards |
