It is already 13th January today, you can go in for First Appeal or even a Complaint under Section 18 to the Haryana SIC. Many members of this forum have argued that it is always better to exhaust the First Appeal procedure under Section 19 rather than use Section 18 for a complaint. |

May I put forth one more view of mine on 18(1) Vs 19(1) issue ? 19(1) channel is likely to fetch the reply within 45 days. But in 18(1) channel, there is no time frame and one may not know the outcome for months. If he is in Kerala he may not get a reply even in 2 years. Which is better ? sir, if no reply received within the stipulated time, lose no time in making the first appeal as the concerned PIO is violating the law i.e. rti act 2005. he is liable for punishment for not giving the information without adequate reason. this is the only way. trying to approach the concerned PIO of the police dept may not be of any use. as all of us know, less said about their approach towards the public, the better. |
