As reported in The Economic Times on 23 January 2008: HP CIC asks officials to ensure smooth implementation of RTI - Politics/Nation-News-The Economic Times HP CIC asks officials to ensure smooth implementation of RTI BILASPUR : Himachal Pradesh Chief Information Commissioner P S Rana today asked officials to provide information under Right to Information Act in a time-bound manner. Addressing a meeting of officials here, the CIC asked the head of the departments to appoint Informatin Officers and Assistant Information Officers for smooth functioning of RTI. The CIC asked IOs to maintain a separate register to keep detail of requests made under RTI Act. He told officials that information sought has to be provided within 30 days failing which the IO would be penalised.      |
