Hi, We have come to Chennai two years back and still do not possess a ration card here. All our names (myself, my husband and our 3 and a half year old daughter) are there in our Kerala ration card in my FIL name. Now if we want to get a new ration card in Chennai in my husband's name, what is the procedure? We are at Mogappair (Anna Nagar West) in Chennai... Can we apply for the ration card at all times? or is there any specific time for applying? Manju     |

* Pls check whether you have removed your names in the old ration card and possess a name removal certificate from your state authorities. * If you have done that you can apply for a ration card at the office of Assisstant commissioner, Department of civil supplies and consumer proctection along with the certificate. *I hope Mogappair comes under Ambattur AC's Office which is behind Ambattur OT bustand, you may go in person and directly get in touch with the AC or the office manager (dont approach any brokers) * After making an application for ration card you can always shoot an RTI application if you feel you are not supplied ration card in time and get the same at the earliest. regards R.L.Saravanan Advocate |
