I do not know if there is priority or urgent hearing at CIC/SCICs of second appeal/complaint u/s 18/19, when there is question of life and liberty of the appellant/complainant. Since PIO has only 48 hours time limit for such applications, FAA and CIC/SCICs should also accord top most priority for such cases involving life and liberty. Rules can be amended at commission level also. The members may please discuss these issues in this forum.

jps 50 ji, you are correct, it is quite necessary that when an applicant mention the application under Life and liberty of a person and of a family PIO's, appeallet authority and the CIC/SCIS should take immediate action over it. If any ammendment is needed in the act, they should immediately do it rakatkam |

Dear friends, Can any body tell. If a person and a family on Hunger strike and demanding some information can be asked under Life and Liberty? If some body give some details. rakatkam. |

rakatkam, The applicant must prove with evidence that there is a threat to "life and liberty". Hunger strike is voluntary in nature....so really there is no threat to life and liberty. Please see the following post: Expert opinion |
