Income Officer signs as PIO where PIO is different as per Income tax website

    Hi

    Please visit the following page

    http://incometaxindia.gov.in/ccit/CCIT_cpio_apio.asp

Go to point number 49. PIO is commissionar of Income tax Hissar and APIO is Addl commissionar of Income tax Sirsa. I have sent an application to PIO hissar as mentioned her which was forwarded to APIO Sirsa to provide the information as copy of which was sent to me as well.

I get official reply from some one who signs as Income tax Officer, Ward -2, Fbd HQ Sirsa cum Public Information Officer, Sirsa.
More over He is marking all his replies to both commissionar of Income tax Hissar and Addl commissionar of Income tax Sirsa.
    Is this ok??

Not sure If he can sign in as authority as PIO. Moreover if the information has been further sent to him by APIO, the copy of same is not sent to me under the RTI Act rule 6(3), which is not done. Is it ok ??

the web page is last updated on 08/11/2005. As per the RTI Act Rule 4 (b), this should be published and corrected.

    Is it still Ok??

    1. The website is definitely outdated and has not been updated.
    2. I read in the press that in the Income Tax department, junior officers have been
    designated as CPIO:
I-T dept puts RTI tasks in juniors' hands

Just recheck as to who is the correct CPIO.
