Embassy of India in Lebanon
One of my friend submitted RTI application to CPIO, MEA, Akbar Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The CPIO transferred it to CPIO, CPV Division, Patiala House, New Delhi. The CPIO, CPV Division, Patiala House, New Delhi again transferred my application to Embassy of India, Beirut, Lebanon without any address (as the matter was related to Embassy of India, Beirut, Lebanon). I have not recieved any reply and 40 days have past since the date of submission of RTI application. I wanted to know whether I should file a complaint under section 18 to the CIC or should file 1st appeal to the Embassy of India, Beirut, Lebanon. Also on website : CIC & rti.gov.in , the name of CPIO & Appelate Authority of Indian Embassy are mentioned but Embassy of India, Beirut, Lebanon is not mentioned. Whether I should also make a complaint to CIC about no disclosure of CPIO & AA of Embassy of India, Beirut, Lebanon on Government of India website.

Re: Embassy of India in Lebanon
Since it is already 40 days of filing the application, you should file your first appeal with FAA of MEA. Let them forward the same to Embassy or who soever.Sponsorer
If you dont get reply within 30 days you should then file the second appeal in CIC.

Re: Embassy of India in Lebanon
NO. First you have to file First Appeal to the FAA and wait for 30 days for the answer. Do remember to send the copy to CPIO.
You should file your appeal with CIC (also known as 2nd appeal) only after no reply has been received from FAA within 30 days.
