passport status is police report has not been recieved

hi

i applied for passport on 15/11/2007 at lucknow office...
after few days a status is shown on website ie
"police report has not been recieved "
i checked police station so that i came to know whether my enquiry has come or not
they told no enquiry come in police station
and now so many days passed & at web site status remains same
& also no enquiry is carried out

i want to know what i'll do in this case
if u suggest me i'll be thankful to u
