I have requested information relating to defaulers of IT throughout India from the M/O Finance. The CPIO and Appellate Authority advised me to contact the individual CPIOs to get the information. They refused to collect the information and transfer the request to the CPIOs.Is there any decision of CIC for collecting the information from all the CPIOs or transfer the request to all CPIOs |

If there are more than one CPIO designated in one geographical location of a administrative unit of a Public Authority, then it is the duty of the first CPIO to collect that information from other CPIO's and provide to the applicant. However, in your case, it looks as if the information you asked for is not available in a single place or single administrative unit. Probably, that is why you were asked to contact individual CPIO's. Did you try for this information with CBDT ? Maybe they have the information in one place. |
