Question Unanswered: Query regarding the RTI fees

Hi,
When I searched the web for the Fees info for RTI in Orissa, I got this:
Quote:
ORISSA FEE STRUCTURE
You can deposit your application in the prescribed Form A (see Application) and fee through either of the following ways:
1. By post: The application fee of Rs 20 in shape of Treasury Challan in the Schedule under the appropriate head of account.
Sorry for sounding naive, but what is this 'Treasury Challan in the Schedule'? How and where to get it from? Can we get it staying in another state from where I've to file the RTI by post?

Finally, how to know the 'appropriate head of account' is it published somewhere?

Re: Query regarding the RTI fees

U can follow any of the two methods of payment for orissa information. At State Bank of India, you can enquire account number and other details for depositing Rs.20/-
  1. By post: The application fee of Rs 20 in shape of Treasury Challan in the Schedule under the appropriate head of account. For that, you can either go to any branch of SBI and despoist cash in that account and attach deposit receipt with your RTI application.
In person: You can go to the office of the PIO (or send someone) and deposit your application in person and pay the fee in cash in his office.

Question

Thanks jps50,
Any idea how can I get that account number to be deposited into? As I'm staying in Bangalore and I want to file RTI in Bhubaneswar, Orissa by post. Unfortunately none of my acquaintances in BBSR know about these details (or able to find out), and I couldn't find any of these info in any of the Orissa govt websites

Moreover, as its mentioned specifically about sending the treasury challan as fees.... would it be rejected if I send the same amount of postal order by post along with the application for first appeal?
And one more doubt... Is the fees different for the RTI application, 1st appeal and the 2nd appeal, etc.?

Re: Query regarding the RTI fees

Hello fightin498a,

Please see this Post. You will get your answers.

http://www.rtiindia.org/forum/2424-head-rti-orissa.html

“0070-Other administrative Service-60-Other services-118-Receipt under Right to Information Act 2005-0014-Collection of Fees & Fines-02178-Fees and Fines under Right to Information Act – 2005”

Since you are in Bangalore it will be next to impossible for you to do that from there. Ask your friends in Bhubaneswar to do it for you.

You can also use Money Orders.

For 1st appeal and the 2nd appeal you have to pay Rs. 20/- & 25/- in court fee stamps.

Re: Query regarding the RTI fees

Hello fightin498a,

I missed out on the following decision of Orissa SIC.

Have a look at it. It will help you a lot.

Important Case (Money Order / IPO related)

It's better if you mention this somewhere in your RTI application. The PIO cannot reject your application on frivoulous grounds.

The Orissa Right to Informatin Rule has a prescribed format for RTI Application. Use that Form Positively. It's called 'Form A'.

Available for download here.
