rti deatails for the BPL card holder

Sir I am government class 1 officer. pl. guide me fro the BPL card holder application whether he has to produce latest certify copy of the BPL card i.e at the time of seeking information. Secondly only fess is not to be paid at time of application. charges for the submission of the document has to be recover or not pl. reply me at earliest .

1) A BPL card holder has to submit a proof of his BPL status. Usually, a copy of BPL card should be sufficient. In case you have any doubt about genuinity of copy, you may insist on inspecting the original.
2)A BPL applicant is to be provided the information free of cost. Thus, both the application fee as well as additional charges like photocopy etc are not to be recovered from a BPL applicant.

Thanku for you replay. sir i want to know whether BPL card holder has to submit a certificate for the the authontication on the date of his application under rti. IN SHORT HE HAS TO PRODUCE HIS PROOF THAT HE IS UNDER bpl AT TIME OF AASKING INFORMATION UNDER rtI RULES

Technically, what you say is correct. The applicant has to be 'BPL' on the date of application.

However, is there any such proof easily available? Or is it just a ploy to stall the applicant? Practically, once a person gets a BPL card, he has no social incentive to drop the status. I am not even sure if there is a prescribed procedure for 'surrendering' a BPL card.
