Mumbai, Nov 1 (PTI) Noted social activist Anna Hazare is among those who have proposed the name of Kiran Bedi, India's first woman IPS officer, for the post of Chief Central Information Commissioner (CCIC).

"I sent the letter to the PM two days ago. Right to Information (RTI) activist Magsaysay award winner Arvind Kejriwal told me he is also sending a similar letter," Hazare told PTI over phone from Ramdev's ashram at Haridwar.

"I have also written to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, demanding appointment of a police officer like Bedi," he said.

The performance of the CCIC over the last four years has been unsatisfactory, he added.

Referring to media reports, Hazare said he was not aware if Aamir had also written a similar letter to the PM.

Bedi now plays the host and chief judge in a popular TV show 'Aap ki Kuchehri', where she resolves domestic problems.

No dobout Kiran Bedi was good police officer but her devotion with RTI is no where proved.

She need not establish and proove devotion. She is capable enough to handle this kind of assignment.

A person is judged on his or her past performance. In that respect Kiran Bedi undoubtedly stands as the only capable option for the post of CCIC RTI.

Sorry to barge in. Ms. Kiran Bedi has impeccable credentials. At least this is what Anna Hazare/Amir Khan et. al. say about her.

In spite of that she still remains an ex-babu. An IPS officer to the core. The other IPS currently in the CIC Panel M.L. SHARMA is the worst performing IC as declared in a recent poll by Arvind Kejriwal. My worst fear is that if she emulates IC SHARMA the CIC shall be doomed.

I stand for a Non-babu this time. Let there be a panel of eminent persons and the best one go to head the CIC. Cherry picking someone will not be a good thing to do this time. It will set another bad precedent.
