Whether state Bar Councils are covered under RTI Act,if so can anyone help me who is the PIO or APIO and FAA for Orissa State Bar Council to get information on complaint against an advocate-no reply received even with four reminders as to action taken.I stay 1200 kms away      |

As per the following judgement of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Bar Councils are PA's. The case was dismissed because of the peculiar nature of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana coming under CIC jurisdiction and not under SIC jurisdiction. http://www.rtiindia.info/downloads/p13_sectionid/2 The details of Orissa Bar Council are: Secretary, Bar Council of Orissa, Kacheri Road, CUTTACK - 753 002 Orissa Phones: (0671) - 2608851 (Off), 2607885 (Fax) 2364084 (R) Best is to call them and ask who is the PIO.
