Not quite - passport office page mentions a new passport fee to be Rs. 1000/- (
Fee Structure) while fee in the US is $40 and GBP 25 in UK - nowhere near the conversion rate in years even accounting for fluctuation. I believe the difference is to account for regional cost variations in providing a service - and rightly so.
Similar can be the logic for
RTI application as well in my view.....
