RTI in Supreme Court Case

An engineering college in Mumbai, SIES Graduate School of Technology (SIESGST), unilaterally increased the fees of its students by 350% in 2003. They were not allowed to do so by the University or Director ofTechnical Education (DTE). My son was a student of this college. We filed a writ petition in Bombay High Court. The court ruled in our favour in 2004. But the college appealed against this order in Supreme Court. We wanted DTE's opinion in the matter in writing to file in the Supreme Court but they did not oblige. We then filed an RTI with DTE asking them for copies of all notices sent to Engg. colleges on the issue of fees. We received a whole bunch of notices which were in our favour. We submitted these to Supreme Court. We are sure whether the Supreme Court took these notices into consideration when they passed a judgement dismissing the college's appeal on 24th Jan 2007. By the time the judgement was pronounced, the students had already completed their course.
