Default Redevelopment of Co-op housing Society

Hi, I a new meber here. Good Morning and greetings from me
I am a memeber of Co-op housing society. I stay on 3rd floor under terrace. I have problems since 10 years due to leakages from terrace and water supply to my home is erratic. I had approached consumer court last year and the case is in progress. Now, my society is telling the court that it is planning to go for redevelopment of the building through a private builder.
    1. I would like to know, if a Co-op Hsg Soc can go ahead with
redevelopment of building, if my case is in the court?
    2. Is it mandatory for the society to take consent of each member in
writting to go for redevelopment of the building?
    3. I am suffering since last 10 years and where can I get justice?
    I will appreciate a reply
    Regards from Sury

Hi, Do not worry brother, Just ask the society to go as per the latest Redevelopment rules released on 3rd January 2009. Copy of the same can be obtained from the Federeation where your society is registered or You can also get the same from the The Mumbai District State Co-op. Society.

The rules are so rigid that the society will drop the idea for redevelopment and any of the rule is skipped by the society you can always complaint to the respective authority and delay the procedure by some years in this way.

I hope this will suffice you query somewhat. You need to buy time at this moment.

    Thanks
    Satish

It is suggested that further discussions on this subject can be sought at sister website www.bighelpers.org/forum, since this matter doesn't come under the purview of RTI Act. This site is strictly for the purpose of RTI matters/discussions only.
